Analytics Manager
Job Description
Associated Content, The People's Media Company, is looking for an energetic, team-oriented analytics manager to satisfy its day-to-day business intelligence requirements. An ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability to solve complex and unique technical problems, and collaborate with team members, remote vendors, as well as internal and external clients. The position will be based in either Denver, CO or New York, NY.
Required Experience:
Responsibilities
The position is a hands-on role whose main responsibilities include:
§ Owning day-to-day delivery of a first-class analytical product to discrete internal constituents including sales, marketing / community, finance and executive team
- Areas of focus include traffic & traffic generation, content & content production, and competitive analysis
§ Interviewing internal business users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata training, service levels, data quality, and performance
§ Gather, translate and refine business requirements into functional specifications for reporting needs
§ Managing or executing CRM analytic work such as segmentation, modeling, testing / experimental design
§ Managing or executing marketing ROI analyses
§ Identifying and working with analytic vendors
§ Identifying and working with development partners
§ Communicating progress of requests / initiatives / projects
§ Working with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications
This Job Requires the Following Skills:
Job Qualifications
§ Strong background in development and use of analytical techniques, including: segmentation, modeling, customer profiling, data mining, response profiling and modeling, and ROI analysis
§ BA/BS required, Masters preferred in a quantitative major such as operations research, statistics, economics, mathematics
§ 5+ years experience required, focusing on reporting, analytics, and development of customer knowledge in a fast-paced client environment
§ Object-oriented development experience
§ Experience with SQL and proficiency in SQL programming
§ Strong knowledge of relational databases and stored procedures
§ Experience with C++, Visual Basic, Java, Flash, other software development languages and developing software applications
§ Strong trouble-shooting skills
§ Application development life-cycle knowledge is required
§ Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
§ Ability to work in a dynamic, highly-collaborative environment
§ Experience in operating within iterative application development methodologies
§ Experience with Project Management methodology
§ Experience using data warehouse or analytical tools for business purposes
§ Ability to work and effectively communicate with technical people
§ Strong attention to detail
§ Flexibility, diplomacy and problem-solving skills
§ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
