Purpose

 

Develop a culture of online analytics and fact-based insights to continually drive improved business results and customer experience.  Influence the direction of the online measurement program, integration of results and recommendations into cross-channel marketing, and the process mapping of measurement implementation.  Will administer and configure at least one or more of the following Web Analytics tools; WebTrends, Omniture, Coremetrics, Google Analytics, Visual Sciences.  Other areas of emphasis will include: financial or business reporting and analysis; developing and maintaining dashboards and performing ad hoc analysis in a web marketing or e-tail environment.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

1)       Receives Support and Expand technological implementation of measurement tools and processes

         Coordination and execution of website tagging and event based metrics (flash, ajax, .asp, java), understanding of client-side (.js) log file analysis, and execution of cross-domain tracking methodologies

         Clear understanding of backend functionality of web analytics software, and organizational skills to set up, administer and maintain the software

         Support and Develop enterprise tools in collaboration with internal/external partners

         Act as subject matter expert and main point of contact/coordination for tag implementation and version control with internal/external partners

         Function as the “owner” for tagging multiple websites and developing systems and methodologies for campaign tracking

 

2)       Develop and integrate Culture of Action-Based Analytics

         Facilitate communication through IT, eSolutions, Agency Partners, and Internal Partners to gather requirements and build test metrics/KPI based test plans to blend with traditional channel research methodologies

         Meets with Business Stakeholders regularly to communicate online analytics results and recommend actions to make improvements on these results

         Shares online analytics success and opportunities to communicate with Business Stakeholders to cerate an atmosphere of transparency

 

3)       Integrate Online Analytics with Offline Data to provide insight and strategic direction to necessary Enterprise Stakeholders

         Support, Maintain and Develop Quantitative and Qualitative KPIs and Dashboards to determine performance management and actionable analysis to stakeholders

         Support Cross-Functional Team and eSolutions Marketing Managers to measure pre-determined business objectives by developing relevant and maintainable multi-channel web metrics.

         Prepare and manage ad hoc and scheduled reports for specifically identified areas of performance (campaign, event tracking, content performance)

         Create and execute test plans to identify areas of opportunity and drive multi-channel marketing measurement (A|B Testing, ROAS, Online/Offline Customer Life-Time Value)

         Support SEO, Search Analytics and drive QA on tracking endeavors to ensure data validity, enhance content effectiveness and monitor search engine configuration.

 

4)       Establish and maintain standards (in accordance to WAA, IAB, SEMPO, IAPP, NAI, etc.) governance and best practices for web metrics, enterprise wide

         Works with internal/external partners and eSolutions team to develop and communicate best practices for metrics reporting and interpretation

         Explores information/metrics requirements and evolves reporting based on Business Stakeholder feedback

         Shares metrics learning and best practices with eSolutions, internal research and analytics teams, and external partners

 

Position Reports To: eSolutions Marketing Manager

This Job Requires the Following Skills:

Job Requirements

 

 

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         2-5 years experience in a web development or technical role, with 2+ years working experience in web strategy and data analysis

·         Solid knowledge of online tracking and measurement best practices, including (including site, campaign, SEM performance measurement)

·         Excellent knowledge of internet and intranet principles, practices and technologies 

·         Considerable experience in site development as a programmer/project manager in a complex multi-owner technical environment

·         Strong understanding of search optimization strategies

·         Retail experience preferred

·         Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics or Quantitative field (Computer Science, Web Analytics, Marketing, Web Development, Technical Project Management, Business System Analyst);  Master’s/MBA preferred  

 

The qualified candidate will possess the following skills:

·         Highly developed analytical skills

·         Ability to interpret data and extrapolate  and trends

·         Offer strategic business advice based on data

·         Ability to work independently

·         Superb communication skills a must (written and verbal) to facilitate and coordinate actionable conversation between the IT/Web Dev, Creative Services, and Business teams 

·         Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

·         Knowledge of SPSS, SAS or other statistical analytics packages

·         Experience with analytics tools (e.g., WebTrends, Omniture, CoreMetrics, Google Analytics)

·         Excellent knowledge of online and marketing principles

·         Strong influencing skills

·         Strong project management skills

Education Required:

Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science preferred
